One of my favourite places outside Australia is Lake Wanaka in the south island of NZ. And when visiting, we always make our way to that Wanaka Tree to see how it is fairing. On our last trip there we saw how fragile it was, surrounded by stately strong trees along the shoreline, the iconic tree, despite being a victim of senseless attacks of vandalism continues to stand alone, surviving. We hope it continues to exist and be the icon it is.
