Shadows of a Lonely Tree

Heading back from a late afternoon walk in Margs looking to the west where the sun sets over the ocean I'm captured by a single big old tree and the long shadow it casts. The hazy backdrop accentuates it's silhouette and I can't help feeling how lonely it looks. As always, I love this time of day and the way the light creates such interesting shapes and patterns. I must paint it.

Jill Bryant is a West Australian artist, based in Fremantle. Jill inspired by the colours‚ textures and emotive elements of everything around her making her work extremely varied. Her passion for art started at a very early age and has continued to grow along with her skills awarding her with Dux of her year in two art institutions during her years of art education. Although a qualified Graphic Designer her real love is for painting‚ both in impressionistic and abstract forms.

The watercolour medium never ceases to captivate her and has moved her to push the boundaries producing stunning watercolour abstracts and impressionist works.
