Watercolour on paper
Signed on the back.
I painted this some while ago, and used it as an image on social media at Christmas time.
The dog was at a Canine Assn. (S.A.) show around the end of year, when everyone was getting into their Christmas Spirit. I've always loved Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, and this one sat so patiently in a Santa cap, in front of a tree setting in one of the exhibitors' tents. It was certainly all in Christmas spirit and sure that it was having a doggone good time!
I don't remember ever putting this up for sale, but as I'm downsizing much of my collection of art and other paper items, I'm sure this is one that many will fall in love with - as I can't help but smile when I look at this beautiful dog, who seems to be smiling, also.
There is a lot of fine detail in this painting, so it took considerable time to paint.
The painting is painted to the edge of the paper, so it can be 'float mounted' by a framer, or matted slightly over the edges - I don't believe it will spoil this in any way. My measurement reflects the actual paper size, but in the past I have cropped it down to fit more standard sizes - such as cropping the height.
This cute dog is such a jolly character to display not only at Christmas, but throughout the year.
I hope someone loves it and enjoys him/her as much as I have.
I have done dog portraits in the past as commissions, so you're welcome to contact me on Bluethumb if interested. Thank you.
