Red Velvet

A smooth red catches your eye as you're drawn to the lone figure at the centre of the painting. The multiple layers and brush strokes add a touch of Basquiat to the featured character, NuNu. Almost as if you're looking through the anatomy of this man-like teddy bear, and seeing the ribs and heart intertwine through the contrast of black and white lines, with a light shade of red and pinks depicting the flesh.

Sometimes, such as life, something that is initially so simple, may hold deep complexities to anyone that holds more than a passing gaze. This piece depicts human emotion. The vibrancy and wish to be seen, and yet the light and dark dancing within. The feeling of loneliness, emptiness, even when with the ones you love.
