Absent Drift

It's sometimes difficult to describe the function of a non-objective artwork without resorting to simply talking about process. In this work, there's a sense that some of the components of the work have drifted outside the painting's edge. I often construct works around transitory phenomenon, where I allow intuitive processes to guide decision making.

Based in Melbourne, Australian artist Jo Moloney explores hard-edged geometric abstractions that delve into the legacy of twentieth-century modernist traditions.
