The rapture by Jonathan Redmayne is a new body of work highly influenced by the likes of Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning. The journey began over 15 years ago, the works have become more complex and meaningful over the years. The layers are carefully thoughtout and are applied with raw emotion each colour fights for survival to achieve the desired effect. The journey continues... each unique piece is a page of my personal diary. Nice statement piece 155x 92 on fine thick edge gallery strecthed canvas. Finished three coats of clear lacquer for protection. Signed and dated on the back Completed on the 1 May 2022
Jonathan Redmayne is an artist based in Australia whose paintings have been exhibited nationally, as well as in England, Italy, Argentina, and the United States. He describes his works as challenging the current climate and are carefully arranged by showcasing organic shapes that orchestrate a narrative of conflict and harmony, fragments of contrasting colours created through blending brushstrokes, abstract signatures and sculptural like curves.. Redmayne's bold compositions embody a visual aesthetic that "emotionally confronts the viewer".
