Cefalù, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, is one of the most evocative destinations on the island. It is located on the northern coast of Sicily, in a strategic position, to say the least: about an hour from Palermo. Old buildings can sometimes be challenging (and fun) to paint with their odd shapes and colors, as can all the boats on the beach.
This version is on canvas, which is unusual for my work as i prefer the smoother finish of wooden panels. Panels also allow me to go into greater detail whilst canvas can lose some when rendering the painting. But this turned out beautifully nonetheless and I'll be painting more large canvas paintings in the future. All my paintings are framed as shown on the picture.
