Artwork Description

This painting is of some pomegranates from our own garden. I love the color and pattern of the fruit and the way the light it is generating in the painting, Red is my favorite color, the color of life. No wonder they have placed pomegranate in the rank of super-fruit. It is painted on a prepared panel with different layers of oil paint to give that extra dimension. One more thing; this is a 'STUDY' and this is reflected in the price. A smaller, one off a kind, painting that always finds an interesting spot in a collection or house. Overall size including frame 40 x 29 x 3cm

Note: If you who would like to view my paintings in person, you are welcome to a live viewing at the seriously chique " Hampton Estate Wines " on Mount Tamborine (Gold Coast hinterland) where there are always around 20-30 paintings on show. Worth coming up the mountain for a day trip if you are visiting the Gold Coast , Queensland 4272, Australia.

Artist Bio

Kivits’ classic oeuvre includes not only original Still-life’s, but also Fruit and Floral compositions, Landscapes, Seascapes and Figurative works in glazes of oil-paint. Predominantly tapping into his antique collection for inspiration, his works take considerably longer to produce; hence a small number of masterpieces are created annually.
True traditional realism, all in the line from the Sixteenth century European Masters onward, he is staying true to these time-proven styles, refusing digital means to aid his work, e.g. projection, pre-printed canvas, grid tracings, or anything but the skill of his own eyes to hand.
Dutch-born Kivits' has firmly established himself in Australia as a legitimate Brand over the years, and his creations have found their ways to art lovers in many developed countries.
