As I Walked Into My Studio

One day I walked into my studio and saw how beautiful a bouquet of native flowers looked on my desk under the particular lighting on that day. I decided that moment I had to capture it. I used combination of acrylic as the abstract underpainting, and built on top of it using oil paints and cold wax, to create the textures akin to the bouquet.

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
