Banksia Flower in a Vase with a Little Bird

A composition exploring how objects reflect colours onto other objects, in a neutral toned design. Features a dried banksia flower, from an Australian native bouquet I was gifted earlier in the year, a striped vase, striped fabric from a second hand fabric store that employs people with disabilities, and a little bird model, gifted to me by my mother in law.

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
