Artwork Description

A small bunch of apples sitting atop a scarf that was made by women who have been rescued by human trafficking. I painted this at the beginning of winter, when the light was coming into my studio with a cool and calm sense.
Painted from life using Holbein Acryla Gouache paints.

2022, Gouache on 270gsm cold pressed watercolour pape
30cm x 21cm
Unframed.

Artist Bio

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
