Still life in red, black and blue

For this artwork, I created a still life arrangement based off Walter Sickert's Les Petites Belges (Young Belgian Women). My intention was the capture the overall colour scheme and shapes through abstracting the elements in the painting, and finding objects that would serve to create that underlying abstract design.

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
