Still life with a peach and pear

A still life where I experimented with abstracting the objects but keeping enough representation to make a few recognizable, to draw the eye into the picture. I incorporated cold wax to create strong surface texture, to create visual interest and complexity to the image which otherwise represents the objects flattened.

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
