Visiting

This artwork captures a day I went to visit my grandmother in law in hospital, in the last couple weeks before her passing. Upon entering her room, I was in awe of the beauty of the scene I saw walking into the room. The colour of her robe contrasted beautifully against the neutral tones of her room, with a soft ambient light coming through the window, which gave the whole room an overall glow. I wished to capture this moment, as well as her calm, soothing and joyful emotions that she shared with the family that day.

Josseline Jeria is a Contemporary Australian born painter, currently based in Sydney.
Focusing on the Fine arts, I work predominately in realist traditions based in impressionistic and expressionistic styles. I explore incorporating abstract qualities in my work, to create different pictorial spaces and to emphasize focal points. My choice of style for a given painting is made based on the composition and the mood I wish for the audience to experience when viewing my work.
I enjoy exploring the full spectrum of colour palettes, from monochromatic to highly saturated, and from minimal to complex interpretations of objects, landscapes and people.
The majority of my paintings are painted from life.
