After discovering a wonderful old Ampol map of South Australia whilst tidying my studio, a series of small studies of South Australia evolved.
Using sections of the map as a base, iconic symbols of the various regions were painted in acrylic over the surface of the map.
Any road trip in Australia offers a wonderful selection of quirky road signs, often incorporating the dangers of our wildlife on the roads.
This artwork would work well paired with another piece from the series and is varnished ready to hang.
