After discovering a wonderful old Ampol map of South Australia whilst tidying my studio, a series of small studies of South Australia evolved.
Using sections of the map as a base, iconic symbols of the various regions were painted in acrylic over the surface of the map. ' Ampol Far West ' captures the fabulous whales seen at the Head of the Bight in the far west of South Australia.
This artwork would work well paired up with one or more pieces from this little series and is varnished and ready to hang.
