The stunning Flinders Ranges in South Australia's northern outback is a favourite place of mine to visit. It is ancient, spiritual country and an amazing source of inspiration for an artist.
Huge 'old man' gums stand firm in stony creek beds, surviving on intermittent rainfall and harbouring a wide array of wildlife and birdlife.
'The Sentinel', painted in watercolour is a classic example of these gums, sprawling across the creek bed, casting glorious shadows on the sand. With the Ranges in the distance this artwork would suit the lover of the outback, adventure and nature.
