The beautiful Bluebeard, or Blue Fairy, Orchid (Pheladenia deformis) is a small, terrestrial orchid common in southern and eastern Australia. It usually has a single flower on each stem, but often is found in tight clusters. I have rendered this pair of flowers at about 6 times life size in artist quality coloured pencil on 100% cotton rag, and framed it in raw timber behind special glass that is UV-protective and anti-reflective. A delicate piece to decorate any small wall space!
