My years of growing up in New Zealand, I was able to grow these stunning orchids very easily. Now living in Queensland, every winter I buy a new cymbidium plant, and hope that it will reflower the following season. They never do. Capturing their beauty in watercolours was a way to preserve them for winters to come.

Artist Bio
For most of my life I have worked with Mother Nature as a florist. I live and breathe flowers daily, and am always excited as the changing seasons bring about a new bounty of blooms that never fail to delight. In 2011, my home and business were lost in the floods that devastated Brisbane, and I turned to painting as a way of overcoming anxiety. It was a trial and error learning curve, that saw me originally working with acrylic paints, and then moving on to oils, and now I am currently working with watercolours. I love photographing the flowers I work with, through the life cycle of bud to decay, and then using my photos to create a composition that I would like to paint. In 2016 I held my first solo exhibition in Brisbane, which was hugely successful. In 2017 I won People’s Choice award and Curators Choice at the Rotary Art Spectacular in Brisbane. My art journey is continually evolving and I hope you will enjoy my work as much as I have had creating it.
