The grass tree forests in Taloumbi are being divided up into 100 acre lots and clearing is destroying the forests. Some of these plants are hundreds of years old but without protection, I fear they will vanish along with the endangered coastal emus and numerous other threatened spacies.

Artwork Description
Artist Bio
Growing up in Glenbrook NSW in the 50's and 60's instilled my appreciation of the Australian landscape. I have worked as an artist for the last 45 years or so, while raising 3 girls and working part time jobs with women, young people and children. During that time I was involved in community art, working with my husband, Malcolm King, other artists and various community groups to create murals, mosaics, music and fabric art works. A favourite being the garden mural in Leura mall, Blue Mountains, NSW, which is still in situ after 40 years.
I own and operate Kingstudio in Newbury Victoria art studios. Open random weekends or by appointment. (Formerly a gallery and BnB, previously in Milton on the south coast and Maclean on the northern Rivers in NSW)
I am a painter now working in acrylics . The transition from oil to acrylic has created a new style in the work I create which I describe as traditional, contemporary, semi abstract, naive landscape.
Sculptural work is becoming more a part of my practice in recent years.
