Artwork Description

The explosion of colour in the water looked like a fire and smoke starting to curl across the sky so I kept going with the effects and colours in the rest of the painting.

Artist Bio

I am a Queensland based artist currently living in Brisbane.

I attended the Brisbane Seven Hills College of Art and now work as a sign designer and still continue to create in various art mediums including painting and pottery.

I sell my work to private collectors, through Art exhibitions and in Art Galleries, and through online sites.

Having discovered the beauty of our native Australian kingfishers I have created a series of nature works with Coral and Flame trees from around the Montville and Maleny districts. I forage for branches and leaves for reference so I can study the fine detail and create a more realistic setting for my native wildlife.

STOP! "I need a photo of that fence paling, that flower, that branch or that leaf" is often heard yelled in the car when driving and not always in an ideal place to pull over. Curious glances from the resident cows while I traipse through long wet grass to get just the right photo of a lichen covered dilapidated fence post are cast in my direction.

I have been enjoying painting the Banksia that are always changing color in my neighbourhood. The colors in the leaves are unlimited and I often use the colors in my landscape paintings and more recently the larger still life paintings that I am enjoying immensely .
