I have been exploring mixed media in the form of fabric collage and acrylic paints. I love the effect the fabrics have with texture and pattern. In this piece I have used a vintage fabric for the vase, tablecloth and some flowers and leaves. I have painted extra flowers and leaf detail and background and coated with gloss varnish. This artwork is has a pine timber floating frame.

Painting intuitively in an abstract expressionist style, Julie ventures where her dreams and brushes take her using memories and vintage imagery as inspiration which leads to a deep immersion in paint, colour and soulful creativity. Inspired by the rich colours and earthiness of textures from the Australian land and streetscapes, the patina from objects once loved and now discarded are major influences in her work.
