Sacred Sallys' Mangrove Music

Walking past the mangrove as I had hundreds of times before, my eye caught an unlikely shock of electric blue and for 60 magical seconds I stood two metres away from a sacred kingfisher as it jumped from mangrove branch to branch, watching me back all of the time. Flighty and exquisite, these beautiful creatures inhabit a huge swathe of Australian coastline but are shy. I felt so blessed!

With 2 artworks purchased for the Australian Embassy in Kabul, Bloomfield is one of a select group of Australian artists chosen to represent Australian Art in International Embassies.
