Artwork Description

Light weight stretched canvas on wood stretcher - ready to hang. From the series 'I never promised you a rose garden'. Hand cut vintage paper collage painted on acrylic polymer paint and stretched canvas substrate. Layered with ink, acrylic polymer layers to achieve a vintage textured wall paper or damask 'Sunday/best' tablecloth (perhaps Wedgewood?) texture. Perfect for a bedroom.
A similar work was awarded highly commended in the Gosford City Art Prize 2022

I love all things gardening and flowers. I like to celebrate the unwanted and the discarded and I celebrate repurpose/recycle/reuse domestic materials; especially vintage books, papers and found objects. Using traditionally domestic processes to make and celebrate new stories. I like to give new life to the ‘disposable’.
