Banjo

From the Badmagpie series, painting magpies in honour of the Australian magpie that lives with us in urban environments. Full of character the badmagpies that I paint are also giving a nod to the Aussie larrikin and honouring the fearless and mischievous nature our lovable magpies are known to have. Banjo likes to hang out under old gum trees, and watch the Billy boil when he has a break from city life.

The street, urban culture and nuances of our environment are my focus.
I use fine art techniques combined with the sensibility of the street to comment through my work on the everyday, normal and familiar that sometimes go unnoticed and taken for granted.
I look at what lies within our personal world, our everyday happenings that may seem mundane but enrich us and form the glue that bind our lives and us to each other
I commemorate magpies, graffiti, a moment in time, a space now dilapidated for inspirations as I see life history, personality and character in these muses.

Represented by Fine art galleries in Sydney and Melbourne I am also internationally exhibited and collected with clients Australia wide as well as in New York, across the USA, Tokyo, South America and throughout Europe.

With work ranging from murals, oil paintings, drawing, and my long lasting Badmagpie street sign series,
I seeks to enjoy the "thorns not the roses" in a ploy to disengage the popular.
