No Stopping a Badmagpie. The resilience to live amongst humans when humans have street poles instead of trees to perch in, offer scraps and garbage to eat when a Maggie can’t find a good worm and last but not least, have used up all the room so there is hardly any places left to live.
People wonder why Badmagpies look so grumpy.

All art by Karen Farmer

Lovable, larrikin’s and friends if you’re lucky to have them know you . Aussie icons and an important part of our unique landscape, both urban and rural. . The traditional magpie poem states that seeing two magpies means joy, perhaps because they have found their one and only, partner in crime and forever partner. Beautiful resilient Australian iconic magpie who are an integral part of our urban landscape The iconic and much loved Australian magpie is my muse. I paint them onto retired street signs in a nod to their ability to adapt to the urban environment and human made landscape.
