Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Derived from an experimental process over many years, this work is part of a body of work where the focus moves to the tiny details of the banksia flowers and the shape of the little flowers within.
A chaotic underlay of colour is added to the canvas and later contrasting marks placed in a veneer across these layers.

Artist statement : I am an extremely diverse artist; I believe there is much value in diversity. I love working with colour, it evokes an emotional response, and there is a symbolic strength and passion attached to applying colour to a canvas. I have always been fearless with use of colour which for me creates a dialogue of resilience and tenacity.

This work is framed in Tasmanian Oak floating frame and is ready to hang. The frame was added sometime after the original listing. It's now reflected in the price.

Pale blue and cerise layered background. Covered in tiny separated brush strokes in rows and stripes of pale blue and cerise.Abstract layers of paint in blues, mauve, and many shades of these colours, covered with an overlay of individual brush strokes in lilacs, pinks, blues and pale green. A joyful work full of deep to pastel tones and colours, inspired by my garden outside my art studio. Shades of blue, ochre and all shades of green mark making creates a veneer over the abstract landscape background, beautiful sunshine colours peeping through.A deep blue green ocean landscape full of impressionist mark making and bursts of coral colours, turquoise, ocean greens, and the outlines of imaginary floating flowers and hints of leaves.
