After visiting Italy and seeing a field of wild poppies I was so inspired to create this piece. Taking them home to my hotel room connected me back to my grandfather who served in the war and also to loved ones that have lost family in combat. They are so beautiful in their structure and essence but also so fragile. A reflection of life itself...
