Artwork Description

Hydrangeas are one of the few flowers that change so dramatically depending on color. The way they interact and swirl together, some with more detail and veins, others smooth and flawless in look and texture making them the chameleon of blooms .They are truly unique, each petal which is what has inspired me to paint them, reflect their vulnerability and their unique aura.

Artist Bio

Karen Jaques is a Grief Counselor, a path she followed after experiencing many losses and challenges in her own life. Her passion for life drives her to be bold, brave and courageous believing that adversity can become a path that links us back to our authentic selves, and strengthen our capacity to get us through. That passion for life comes through in Karen’s approach to her creative work as she seizes the moment and expresses with hands rather than brushes. She captures the lightness of life often balanced with the dark in bright and bold compositions that serve to remind us that nature and our surrounds will always ground us spiritually, and emotionally if we are open.
"I am Karen Jaques, a free-spirited Australian expressionist working from Studio Shambahla. My signature hand-painted floral and abstract series are created entirely by manipulating rich acrylic textures with my hands, palms, and spatulas..."
