Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas

Signed on the back.

This artwork can be orientated in portrait or landscape.

Titled with lyrics from ABBA's Fernando and Wiradjuri Language.

The first artwork since the recent passing of my beautiful husband Troy. My art will be a part of my healing,a new journey. Our dreaming tracks were filled with love and I pass this on through my work.

Abstract landscape

Traditionally in Aboriginal culture Songlines or 'Dreaming Tracks' were used to map country. The songs passed to each other to share where food, water , ceremonial sites and other significant landmarks.
A contemporary representation of this tradition I use music to evoke memory and place.

Exploring the connection between landscape and memory and more specifically the remnants and traces left in environments either in a physical form or as emotion.

Aboriginal peoples have walked this country for thousands of years, leaving tracks which are both tangible and spiritual.
I challenge the idea of ' Past' as something no longer existing. I believe it remains,in our memory and the land.In what we see and what we cannot.
