Years ago I was experimenting with archival textured papers, which I discovered at the art store. , I collaged the paper onto the canvas, to create a lovely texture, and painted something on this canvas. This was all purely experimental, and after several attempts, that painting was abandoned .
The textured underpainting made a great surface to paint new painting, and the result is this pretty cat with a colourful patchwork pattern . My style moves between abstract, quirky and naive. The resulting cat is very unique. The painting has a coat of gloss varnish, and the edges are painted black, so it doesn’t require framing.
