A slice of heaven

Eyes closed, the magical sun warms your skin as a beautiful breeze rushes through your oversized hat. You take a sip from your drink and take a deep breath, letting every little flavour seep into your soul, the salt on your lips just adding that touch of earthiness to your trance. You open your eyes and watch the waves break in the distance, spotting a school of dolphins playfully rocking the boat. This is a slice of heaven on earth, I’d rather be no where else.

Kat is a self taught mixed media artist who resides in Currumbin Valley, Australia. She works with all types of media, with her favourites being acrylic and collage. Throwing in some unusual material into her work to add texture and layers and mood to express emotions and depth. Her work is spawns from her passion within to constantly create and the therapy it provides for her in her busy life with 4 young kids. Kat is influenced by her children and her life experiences, bringing to life a lot of raw emotions on paper. Most of her work is based around beautiful and strong women with influences in the lowbrow/pop surreal as well as the fantasy genres. She finds Persian miniatures very fascinating a lot of her work has been inspired by the ancient miniature paintings originating from India, Egypt and Persia.
