Artwork Description

Mixed Media on wood

Signed on the front.

This beauty was inspired by the brilliant Walter Crane’s “Lillies”. Walter was a renowned artist of his time, had a soft spot for capturing the beauty of nature, and lilies were his muse. He was all about infusing his paintings with a sense of tranquility and appreciation for the simple joys in life - that is, when he was taking a break from all the heavy stuff to do with social justice and politics. So when he painted "Lilies," it was his way of inviting viewers to pause and immerse themselves in the serenity of nature. Walter wanted to remind us to slow down and savor the beauty around us and I hope to convey that same feel in my painting.
