I Scream

‘I Scream’ took approximately 50 hours to create. This Hyper realistic drawing is the second of a series of drawings based on the idea of ‘looks good enough to eat’.

I create every piece from start to finish, including the purchasing of the strawberry pavlova flavoured ice cream in a decadent chocolate dipped cone with sprinkles from my favourite local gelato shop, photographing, (consuming!) and drawing the piece.

On 160 GSM archival quality paper using Faber Castell polychromos pencils.

This work has been framed in a white box frame with a glass window.

I am an Adelaide-based emerging contemporary artist, working across both hyperrealism and contemporary abstract styles. My practice explores the spectrum between precision and freedom drawing on my early foundation in detailed realism, while now embracing bold colour, layered texture, and expressive abstraction.

From a young age I was immersed in the visual arts, receiving recognition through youth council prizes, competitions, and subject awards during my studies. After stepping away from art when my career path turned towards structure and order in 2015, I have since reconnected with my creative voice, rediscovering the joy of colour, movement, and self-expression.

Since reigniting my love of art, I have been a semifinalist in the 2020 Tony White Memorial Art Prize. My contemporary abstract works are vibrant, intuitive, and filled with energy, celebrating colour as both emotion and memory.
