Kate Douglas is an acclaimed mid-career artist painting highly detailed reproductions of how she sees the world. Her paintings explore the built and natural environments using unique compositions and viewpoints. She is known for her labour-intensive artworks which take over 100 hours to produce each medium-sized work.
Kate’s latest solo exhibition has recently completed a year-long tour of major public galleries in South East Queensland. She has exhibited throughout Australia at venues including the Judith Wright Centre of Contemporary Arts, Ipswich Art Gallery, Redcliffe Art Gallery and Gippsland Art Gallery. Kate Douglas’ artwork features in several public collections including Queensland Health and Ipswich Art Gallery.
Each of her canvas artworks has image painted around the edges to offer continued viewing with framing optional. All works are created and finished using archival materials.
