Artwork Description

Viewed from above, this painting captures a quiet moment within the rush of Tokyo, where a lone figure moves through a crossing surrounded by towering glass forms and deep blue reflections. The dramatic perspective transforms the city into a canyon of light, shadow and architecture, exploring the feeling of being both small within the urban landscape and completely immersed in its energy.

Artist Bio

Creating her whole life and armed with a degree in Costume Design from Wimbledon School of Art, London, Kate starting to focus on painting more during the great lockdown 2020. Finding herself home alone, painting allowed an expressive and creative outlet that helped fill the void of isolation from the world. She quickly discovered a passion for painting, and specifically figurative and portraiture works, focusing on bright bold colour use and strong brush work. Her works take inspiration from the Pop Art, WPAP & Impressionistic movements, experimenting with conveying identity, character, emotion and thoughts.
