Equivocal Revised

This work has been one in the works for quite a while, it a study for a larger arrangement of work. I'm intrigued by the Gen Z's approach to gender neutrality within culture context, but at the same time how there is still gender inequality within other areas like business and society. I wanted to toy with this idea of colour play, and gender neutrality within the imagery of a person.

Creating her whole life and armed with a degree in Costume Design from Wimbledon School of Art, London, Kate starting to focus on painting more during the great lockdown 2020. Finding herself home alone, painting allowed an expressive and creative outlet that helped fill the void of isolation from the world. She quickly discovered a passion for painting, and specifically figurative and portraiture works, focusing on bright bold colour use and strong brush work. Her works take inspiration from the Pop Art, WPAP & Impressionistic movements, experimenting with conveying identity, character, emotion and thoughts.
