Tamagotchi Nostalgia

Nostalgia work, I've started painting objects from my youth, looking at iconic objects that define a generation which spans from before the creation of the world wide web. I remember a time when you could only call from a landline, and music was listened to from tapes.

Creating her whole life and armed with a degree in Costume Design from Wimbledon School of Art, London, Kate starting to focus on painting more during the great lockdown 2020. Finding herself home alone, painting allowed an expressive and creative outlet that helped fill the void of isolation from the world. She quickly discovered a passion for painting, and specifically figurative and portraiture works, focusing on bright bold colour use and strong brush work. Her works take inspiration from the Pop Art, WPAP & Impressionistic movements, experimenting with conveying identity, character, emotion and thoughts.
