As summer holidays draw to a close and we enjoy the last few days of beach life, we turn our thoughts to the challenges of the new year. Observing the view from the trees we are offered protection, shade and comfort, but they also hold us back and stop us from being seen. What do you want to do this year that involves getting out of your comfort zone? For me, it's sharing more of myself through my art. Trees in art have many meanings, but one that resonates with me is the concept of renewal which comes with the cycle of the seasons. The capacity for renewal is also something we can aspire to. My use of vibrant colours communicate the sense of positive renewal I'm feeling. Can you feel it when you look at this painting? This work is 51x61x3.5cm.
