Do you notice the solitary river red gum in a paddock as you drive by? This painting 'Treasure 5' is one of a series of paintings following on from my 'through the trees' series. I want to celebrate each river red gum as a natural treasure, an old city still full of life, standing like a sentinel in an otherwise treeless paddock. I'm saying to those trees "I see you, I appreciate you, I love you and you are important". Each gum tree is unique in its gnarly, wizened, weather beaten beauty so I use flowing acrylic paint to represent the nooks and crannies, holes and knobbly protrusions.
This work is 45.5 x 45.5 x 3.5cm, unframed, ready to hang. I provide a signed Certificate of Authenticity with each painting. I carefully package each work in bubble wrap and recycled cardboard so that they arrive safely, ready for you to enjoy.
