Artwork Description

Lately I've been inspired by the night sky and capturing the moon in different stages of its cycle. Trees and objects in the landscape can appear in a different form when at night and the light has changed. It gives freedom to my brushstrokes and I feel more confident in leaving first marks without correcting to what I know the object to be. I've been finding joy in this imperfection. You can see two more of these paintings here on my Bluethumb page. They are each 30cm x 30cm ready for you to select the perfect way to frame.

2021 - From time spent emersed in the natural landscape at Eramboo artist environment, Karen completed a series of plein air oil studies of the bush understory with the native flannel flowers and the pampas grass nestled amongst the upright Spotted Gum trees. Some of these works are available here with the Bluethumb Gallery.

Karen continues to develop her artistic practice, working with an experienced art teacher/mentor and is devoted to a lifelong creative journey within the arts.
