Kerry Munns is a self taught intuitive abstract expressionist with a passion to teach. She was brought up in the wheat-belt of Western Australia.
Kerry started her working career at 16 as a hairdresser, winning numerous State Junior Hairdresser awards when she was 18.
Then after marrying, she was blessed with six sons, living daily life among football boots, toy trucks and dozens of dirty socks… but was always able to manage to remember the girly side of herself that loves creating and being artistic.
Kerry and her family made the tree change to the Gingin area in Western Australia 2015 where she has been working as an art support worker and occasionally as an education assistant.
Today Kerry is working full-time as an intuitive abstract expressionist artist using her favourite mediums of acrylics, acrylics impasto, mixed media, oil and chalk pastels and water colours. She mostly enjoys painting flowers and landscapes in abstract, naive and in an intuitive expressionism style.
When Kerry isn’t painting, her other interests are singing, learning the guitar and spending time with her children and 2 grand children.
Kerry has been working from her home studio for over 5.5 years now and has always had a passion to teach.
In 2021 Kerry was a featured artist in the Cervantes Arts Festival and has recently been published on the cover of the Gingin Regional Directory for 2022.
Kerry also runs workshops from her studio and around the state enjoying every moment of spreading her love of art around.
