Artwork Description

When I first saw this photo posted on Facebook by a friend of mine, I knew I wanted to paint it - what an extraordinary beautiful photo. My friend kindly allowed me to use the image, and I loved to work on it. I hope you like it too! The image was taken at Cabarita Beach and captures the serene and mystical atmosphere of sunset, the sky ablaze with deep hues of orange, pink, and purple as the sun dips below the horizon, casting a golden glow over the gentle waves. The ocean, painted in deep blues and indigos, shimmers under the fading light, with waves lapping against rocks and the shore. It reminds me of those summer nights, when you went down for a swim to the beach, and the sunset creating the most beautiful colours.....

Artist Bio

Nature has always fascinated me, and I have felt a deep connection to it for as long as I can remember. I am particularly inspired by the way light transforms landscapes and seascapes - turning familiar scenes into something fleeting, luminous and almost magical. These ever-changing moments captivate me, and through my work I hope to share that sense of wonder with the viewer.

I am a part-time artist based in the Adelaide Hills, painting from my home studio whenever time allows. My art reflects the profound happiness I feel in the act of creation. Working primarily in oils, I strive to capture nature’s harmony and beauty in realistic scenes that still reveal the artist’s hand - brushstrokes, layered textures, and subtle marks that invite closer inspection.
I am drawn to the richness and versatility of oil paint, often using both brushes and palette knives to build depth and character. While grounded in traditional techniques, I remain curious and open to experimentation, continually exploring new approaches, mediums, and inspirations.

Above all, I hope my paintings offer more than a visual experience — I hope they invite the viewer into a moment of stillness, connection, and joy.
