Artwork Description

Inspired by the sacred water fountain dedicated to Dewi Sri, the Balinese Goddess of Rice, this painting beautifully captures the tranquil flow of water against the backdrop of lush rice fields in Ubud, Bali. The fountain's dark waters reflect the serene balance of nature, while the vibrant greens of the surrounding rice fields symbolize prosperity and fertility, honouring the goddess's connection to Bali’s agricultural heart. The peaceful scene invites reflection on the harmony between water, land, and the divine.

Artist Bio

Nature has always fascinated me, and I have felt a deep connection to it for as long as I can remember. I am particularly inspired by the way light transforms landscapes and seascapes - turning familiar scenes into something fleeting, luminous and almost magical. These ever-changing moments captivate me, and through my work I hope to share that sense of wonder with the viewer.

I am a part-time artist based in the Adelaide Hills, painting from my home studio whenever time allows. My art reflects the profound happiness I feel in the act of creation. Working primarily in oils, I strive to capture nature’s harmony and beauty in realistic scenes that still reveal the artist’s hand - brushstrokes, layered textures, and subtle marks that invite closer inspection.
I am drawn to the richness and versatility of oil paint, often using both brushes and palette knives to build depth and character. While grounded in traditional techniques, I remain curious and open to experimentation, continually exploring new approaches, mediums, and inspirations.

Above all, I hope my paintings offer more than a visual experience — I hope they invite the viewer into a moment of stillness, connection, and joy.
