"Where the Light Finds You" has an acrylic underpainting with layered oils on stretched canvas
This painting is part of my Chromatic Impressionism™ series Deep in the Woods. It was inspired by the quiet, early morning light filtering through dense green foliage — that moment when the forest feels both still and alive at the same time.
My process is to build the work with an acrylic underpainting before layering oils on top, which gives the surface both depth and luminous colour. My aim was to exaggerate the beauty of the natural greens and capture the feeling of light breaking through the trees, rather than simply recording what I saw.
"Where the Light Finds You" is designed to create a sense of calm and connection. As a statement piece, it lifts a room with warmth and atmosphere — a reminder of how beauty in nature can be both grounding and restorative.
