Kim’s inspiration comes from nature, living in a beautiful part of Australia that nature is never too far away. Kim particularly looks to the beautiful bright colours of flowers and the calming colours found by the water's edge for adding to her creativity.
Living in South East Queensland, Kim’s paintings have been influenced by the many coastal views and varying aspects, such as, sandy beaches, rocky shores, tropical flora and tidal changes where a river meets the sea.
Kim’s artworks vary from abstract to modern Impressionism, in colour palettes that are both peaceful and delightful.
Creating art in both an intuitive style (which offers the feeling of freedom) and also at times with a predetermined vision in mind, palette knives are a favourite tool for adding texture in Kim’s abstract paintings.
Kim’s finished paintings are mostly available as a stretched canvas, completed with varnish to help protect the art from light and dust. Stretched canvas paintings will typically come ready to hang. For international buyers purchasing from outside of Australia, the canvas can be removed from the frame and shipped in a tube if preferred.
As a Moreton Bay region local artist, Kim has a wonderfully diverse landscapes as a muse, from hills and mountains to rivers and beaches. Drawing upon these inspiration for her paintings over a 20 year period, creating her own interpretations with her unique style.
Having had opportunities to travel to Japan and extensively through Europe, Kim has been further inspired by those experiences in her floral and other abstract works.
Although Kim’s painting style has evolved in mainly an abstract form, she has been influenced by her Father, who as an artist himself, worked in a more classic style of painting.
