Bush scene with Curlews

Inspired by the Australian bush, its wildlife and its mystery. In this painting I experimented with shapes and tones to give the piece depth and the feeling that you could step into the picture. Playing around with scale there is no sense to the different sizing of the birds. I wanted to suggest the way that the mind focuses on different things bringing each into focus in different, sometimes unrealistic ways.
