Coat of arms

A painting that is based upon the traditional Australian coat of arms with a few differences. The basic structure of the wattle branches and central emblem of a Kangaroo and Emu are very similar to the original. The central orb replaces the traditional English shield and its inspiration is derived from the yellow sun of the aboriginal flag. I have added native flowers and animals to provide a rich tapestry of movement. the two feature animals as a sign that they less than happy with the way the coat of arms has traditionally been rendered are facing in opposite directions to the original. A symbol perhaps that Australia still has some work to do in unify its identity.
