Artwork Description

This painting is inspired by the huge flower factory where I sometimes work. In this factory is an immense world of flowers and leaves, products that we use to create arrangements' and bouquets for consumption. There is a strange dichotomy between the numbers game of consumerism and the beauty of the product itself. As such there is a certain symmetry to the composition of the painting, an organisation that is reflected in the working of the factory floor.
The fluorescent colours represent the "high Vis" clothing of the many workers who hover like little insects amongst the flowers.
