A homage to the powerful owl, from a photo taken from the veranda of the house. I wanted to capture the immense presence of this bird and the way he commands respect. I looked to the renaissance masters and their depictions of religious icons as the inspiration for my benevolent owl, deep in conversation with his disciple. In this idyllic romantic and fantasy piece, I look to present the magical realism of daily life. A magic that is often overlooked, but is everywhere and in everything.
